Community Service Projects
The goal of the Community Service program is to cooperate with other organizations to serve our community.
2008–2009 National VFW Ladies Auxiliary Initiatives:
America Supports You—a Department of Defense project designed to connect home support groups with military men and women.
Veterans Oral History Project—through the Library of Congress—the mission of this project is to capture the personal recollections of those men and women who have served their country in the armed forces past and present.
Disaster Preparedness—educating people about being prepared and taking an active part in assisting their communities.
Make A Difference Day—held on the fourth Saturday of every October—is a nationwide celebration of neighbors helping neighbors.
National Family Volunteer Day—held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving—is an annual day of service designed to demonstrate the power of families who volunteer together to support their communities.

Pop Tab Collection Program:
Ronald McDonald House Charities®
Ronald McDonald Houses in Kansas City, Topeka, and Wichita work with local recycling centers to receive money for collecting tabs from aluminum cans—including those from soda cans, vegetable and soup cans, and pet food cans.

Labels for Education Program:
VFW National Home for Children
The National Home collects labels and UPC’s from eligible Campbell’s company products for educational games, electronics, toys and other high-quality products. Recently, the National Home has collected enough labels for a brand new minivan— the third vehicle added to the National Home fleet with the help of individuals across the nation sending in their donations of labels.
NOTE: The National Home cannot use Box Tops for Education, as this is a school-only program. All Box Tops received by the National Home are sent on to the Eaton Rapids Public Schools where most of the residents attend.

Box Tops for Education Program:
Box Tops for Education has helped America's schools earn over $200 million since 1996. Your school can earn up to $60,000 every year through Box Tops. Click the Box Tops logo on the left to go the Box Tops for Education website.
